Country Reports

Each member state fulfils a programme of activities which includes the preparation and publication of an annual report describing the key issues associated with vocational education and training. These publications are known as Country Reports.

Policy report

Every two years each member state also submits an analysis of current VET policy - the Policy Report .

Research and publications

In the intervening periods, member states submit research evidence on a range of themes specified by CEDEFOP.

During 2011, UK ReferNet will be researching the use of European key competencies in training and qualifications in the health care sector. This report will contribute to Cedefop's wider programme of research into key competencies in vocational training.

European process

The 2002 Copenhagen declaration set up a process of closer cooperation in vocational education and training (VET) in Europe, involving governments, social partners and EU institutions. By 2010, 33 countries were participating in this process. The progress and priorities of cooperation were assessed and reviewed at two-year intervals. Read the announcements from Maastricht, Helsinki, Bordeaux and Bruges.

Since 2004, Cedefop has been mandated to report on how countries are progressing towards achieving commonly agreed VET policy goals. The most recent policy report was published on 7 December 2010.
